In a proud moment for the state of Kerala, six-year-old Rahman Khan PK has been honored with the prestigious Rabindra Ratna Puraskar for the year 2026. The award, presented by the Veyil Foundation, recognizes outstanding achievements in cognitive excellence, particularly in the areas of visual memory and Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN).

At an age when most children are just beginning to explore the world around them, Rahman has demonstrated extraordinary mental agility. He successfully identified and recalled the names of 62 countries in an astonishing 36 seconds. This remarkable accomplishment highlights not only his prodigious memory but also an exceptional level of cognitive processing speed that is rarely seen in children of his age.

Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) is a cognitive skill that measures how quickly individuals can name familiar items such as letters, numbers, colors, or objects. Strong performance in this area is closely associated with advanced reading fluency, attention control, and information processing speed. Rahman’s achievement reflects a rare combination of sharp focus, clarity of thought, and well-developed memory skills.

Beyond his natural ability, Rahman’s success stands as a testament to dedication, encouragement, and a nurturing environment that supports intellectual growth. Early recognition of such talents plays a crucial role in fostering confidence and motivating young learners to reach their full potential.

By honoring young achievers like Rahman Khan PK, the foundation continues its mission to promote excellence in cognitive development and inspire children across the country. His accomplishment serves as a powerful reminder that with the right guidance and opportunities, extraordinary potential can shine even at a very young age.
